ARK strives to be a thought leader in its programming as well as its research. Drawing on unparalleled access to community stakeholders and insights crafted over years of programming, ARK publishes research for the benefit of practitioners, local partners and beneficiaries, policy makers, and the academic community.
Our research draws on methods as diverse as quantitative surveys, remote polling, online content analysis, ethnography, sentiment analysis, key informant interviews, focus group discussions, and semi-structured interviews. We examine issues such as social, political and conflict dynamics as well as media narratives in countries impacted by instability. Our research is aimed at producing actionable knowledge: as practitioners, we not only situate and explain challenges, we identify the policy and programming options to resolve them as well as the lessons identified in the course of delivery to ensure we are an accountable, learning organisation.
